Alice Clay Obituary

MENIFEE, CALIFORNIA - Alice Ann Marie Markus Clay With great sorrow we report that Alice passed away on January 13, 2018. She was 75 and surrounded by four generations of her loving family. Alice was born and raised in Racine, WI to Esther Held and Harold Markus. She attended William Horlick High School. At age 19 she moved to California and relished raising her four children, two grandchildren, and her cherished dog Daisy. She lived in Whittier, Anaheim, Yorba Linda, Canyon Lake and Menifee. Her family was her greatest joy, including her devoted husband of 53 years Keith Clay, her three children Jon, Ron, and Eva Clay, her two grandchildren Amber and Crystal Clay, and great-grandson Bennett Buchanan. She is also survived by her four beloved sisters and best friends, Joanne Wilson, Carol Falls, Lorie Sprague, Anne Yaktiyol, and also her brother Bill Markus. She was preceded in death by her son Shane Mark Clay in 1982. She will be buried and rest eternally next to him. A consummate mother, homemaker, and crafter, Alice was an award-winning quilter and loved decorating, flower arranging, and Danish art collectibles. Her greatest talent was in her creative expression. A memorial service will be held on Mon. Jan. 22 at 12:30 pm, at Memory Garden Memorial Park, 455 W. Central Ave, Brea, CA 92821.

My dear sister Alice. A piece of my heart is missing since you left. I grieve knowing I'll not see your face, hold your hand, give you another hug or kiss goodbye. Instead I will keep you in memory and cherish all the happy memories we've shared as sisters. The fun times, the laughs, the tears. We were blessed to have a bond some families don't know. I'm thankful for all you've done. For your compassionate ear and welcoming heart. Someday soon we will reunite and pick up where we left off. I have no doubt that you will be waiting with open arms to greet me when it's my turn to join my family and my God in our eternal home. Love, love, love you sister. RIP

Alice was my best friend and confidante, we could laugh together like we were teenagers, at ourselves mostly. I will miss you so much but I will never forget you////

Alice, you were like a second mother to me in my teen years and I appreciated your continued wisdom, love and support throughout my adult years. I will miss our visits but I hope you will visit me in my dreams. I will love and miss you forever. Peace be with you and your family.
