Antoinette Nilo Obituary

Antoinette L. Nilo

December 12, 1926 - June 11, 2025

Antoinette "Toni" L. Nilo (Bencriscutto) age 98, resident of Westerville, Ohio, died June 11, 2025 at the Avalon of Lewis Center following an extended illness. On December 12, 1926, she was born in Racine, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Gregorio and Caterina Bencriscutto. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law David and Tina Nilo, grandchildren Rebbeca (Jason) Williams and Joseph Nilo, great grandchildren Alex and Marissa Williams. She was preceded in death by husband, Ernest Nilo and her son, Paul Thomas Nilo. Toni was raised in a proud Italian immigrant family. She had fond memories of growing up with her siblings on Blake Avenue in Racine Wisconsin. Her parents were loving and hardworking. They raised 10 wonderful and very successful children. She met her husband Ernest at a high school dance, when he played in the band with her brother Frank. They were married on June 18, 1949, in Racine and spent 60 loving years together. Toni was a devoted mother and wife who would do anything for her family. Her unconditional love was a constant source of strength and support. She loved music, dancing, and her Buckeyes! She thrived on being active and was an avid walker. In retirement she did volunteer work, most notably delivering Meals on Wheels for many years. In January of 2024 after falling and breaking her hips Toni entered hospice and became a resident in the memory care at the Avalon of Lewis Center. She lived there until she passed on June 11, 2025. We want to thank the staff at The Avalon of Lewis Center for the love and great care Toni received. She loved everyone at the Avalon, the aids, the nurses, the staff, and the wonderful residents. We also want to thank Bella Care Hospice and Suncrest Hospice for their loving care. Especially Suncrest and nurse Kate who took great care of Toni and family during her last month of life. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Meals on Wheels or a charity of your choice. On July 8, 2025 at 11:30 a.m., there will be a short service in the chapel at Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 N High St Lewis Center. A luncheon and Celebration of life will follow at Carfagna's 1440 Gemini Place Columbus, OH 43240. www.ohiocremation.org
