Carl J. Morgenson

RACINE - Carl J. Morgenson, 80, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 31, 2006. He was a lifelong resident of Racine, born on May 16, 1925, to Carl and Velore Morgenson. Carl was united in marriage to Nina Fought at Holy Communion Lutheran Church. He retired from J.I. Case Company in 1985 after almost 30 years of service. Carl was a member of Holy Communion Lutheran Church. He also was a member of various dartball leagues throughout Racine. Surviving are two daughters, Shawn Durand and Lucinda (Ken) Kirchoff, all of Racine; seven grandchildren, Harold, Yvonne, Robbie, Chris, Tina, Kerrie, and Carl; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Zamecnik of Racine; and two sisters-in-law, Phyllis Morgenson of Racine and Rosemary Champion of Florida. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends. Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Nina on May 11, 1982; four brothers, Robert, Donald, Kenneth, and Jimmy; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Morgenson and Shirley Rushing; and two nephews, Kenneth Zamecnik and Mike Morgenson. Funeral services will be held at Holy Communion Lutheran Church on Friday, February 3, 2006, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Barrow officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. There will be a visitation at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. and at the church on Friday before services from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Ridgewood Health Care Center have been suggested.
