COLUMUS - Daniel P. Ruppel, 52, of Columbus, and formerly of Racine, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. Daniel was born on July 23, 1971 in Racine to Paul and Janet (Nelson) Ruppel.
He was employed with Fabick Cat in Madison for 27 years.
Dan was married to his life partner Jennifer Furlong on September 16, 2023 at their home. In 2014, he purchased a farm in rural Columbus where he was able to raise steers. He enjoyed fixing old tractors and operating a running farm.
Dan also enjoyed collecting antique tractors. He passed down this passion for collecting and fixing tractors to his son, Thomas who has now bought his own tractors. Dan was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Clyman.
Dan is survived by his life partner and wife, Jennifer; his son, Thomas Ruppel; parents, Paul and Janet Ruppel; siblings: Laura Hotopp, Colleen Nehmer, Emily (Craig) Klepel, and Neil (Amy) Ruppel; step-daughters: Emily and Paige Kirkham; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and nephew, Noah Ruppel.
A visitation will be held at the Koepsell-Zeidler Funeral Home in Columbus on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 p.m.
