Martha Ruppel Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home - Pinconning on Feb. 16, 2026.
Martha "Marty" A. Ruppel, aged 89, of Pinconning, Michigan, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026. Born on June 19, 1936, in Pinconning, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Anna (Jakiemiec) Winiarski. Martha lived a life marked by love, selflessness, and a deep faith that guided her every step.

Martha married Frederick Ruppel Jr., the love of her life, on April 27, 1957. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love and partnership, spanning an impressive 69 years. Together, they built a family foundation strong enough to withstand the test of time. She is survived by her loving husband, Frederick, and their children: Fred (Linda) Ruppel, Jeff Ruppel, and Peggy (Larry) Krupa. She was a cherished grandmother to Josh (Lisa) Ruppel Jesse (Brian) Weir, and a doting great-grandmother to Tommy, Brennan, Elizabeth, Zoey, and Mia. Martha also leaves behind her sisters, Helen Robetoy and Ann Reeves. She was predeceased by her sons Randy and Tom Ruppel, granddaughter Melissa Ruppel, sisters Mary (Al) Powers and Bernice (Bill)Carstens, and brothers Frank (Lottie), Joe (Ann) Winiarski and a brother-in-law Bill Robetoy.

Martha was a dedicated nurse, having received her RN degree in Grand Rapids and spent many years serving her community in Pinconning at the local doctor's office. She later retired from Huron Woods Nursing Home, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and care that touched the lives of many.

A devout member of Holy Trinity Parish, Martha served as a Eucharistic Minister and church lectern, and she was an active participant in the St. Anne Altar Society. Her faith was an integral part of who she was, and she lived it out through her actions and her dedication to her church community.

Martha's interests extended beyond her professional and spiritual life. She was an accomplished knitter and seamstress, often creating beautiful pieces for her family and friends. However, her greatest joy was found in the kitchen, passing on cherished family recipes to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The warmth of her home and the love in her cooking will be fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to experience it.

Martha "Marty" Ruppel will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her selfless nature and faith-filled spirit were her guiding lights and had left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she encountered. She lived her life with grace and left this world richer for her presence. Her memory will be treasured and kept alive through the countless stories and acts of kindness that define her remarkable life.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, February 20, 2026, at 10 am from Holy Trinity Parish with Rev. Fr. Matthew Federico presiding with burial at St. Michael's Cemetery. Friends may visit the Lee-Ramsay Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 to 8 pm. On Friday, friends may visit the church from 9 am until time of services. In lieu of flowers those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. Jude's.
