David Charles Barta

RACINE - David Charles Barta, age 64, passed away Friday, July 12, 2024, at Timber Oaks, Union Grove. He was born in Racine, October 11, 1959, son of the late Charles and Joan (Nee: McCarthy) Barta.
Dave was always an active seeker of knowledge. He was a voracious reader and as a young adolescent was a before his time entrepreneur and ecologist. He ran a neighborhood newspaper and a recycling program in the early 70s. David was a graduate and Class President of J I Case High School, "Class of 1977". After graduation, he briefly attended UW-Parkside. His hobbies included coin, stamp and record album collecting. He was also an avid bike rider and parlayed his enjoyment of the sport into employment for many years at Racine Cyclery. His most recent employment was with Goodwill Industries.
He was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by his siblings: Jane (Richard) Kotowski, Mary (R. Thomas) Moore, Nancy (Bob) Chapman, John Barta; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Barta and Richard Barta.
Private family services were held.
