Donald D. Christensen RACINE – Donald D. Christensen, 92, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Kenosha Estates Nursing Home. He was born in Racine on August 16, 1922, the son of the late Edward and Marie (nee: Dastrup) Christensen. Don was a lifelong resident of Racine except for three years, as a child his family lived in Phoenix, Arizona. On July 11, 1953 he was united in marriage to Dolores Gatzke. She preceded him in death on December 4, 1998. Don had been employed with J. I. Case Company for 44 years, retiring in 1984. He was a former member of Christ the King Lutheran Church and Case 20 Year Club. Surviving are his children, Jeffrey D. (Bonnie) Christensen, Scott L. Christensen all of Racine and Lynmarie (Rick) Annis of Rockford, IL; granddaughter, Julie (John) Langebartels; grandsons, Kevin (Holly) Christensen, Nick, Nate and Matt Annis; great grand- children, Ben, Beth, Hannah and Jacob Langebartels, Leah and Ryan Christensen. He is further survived by two brothers, Roland ‘Corky’ Christensen and John ‘Jack’ (Bev) Christensen, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at Sturino Funeral Home on Thursday, March 5th, 2015 at 11 am. He will be laid to rest at West Lawn Memorial Park next to his wife, Dolores, following services. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 pm until 7 pm and on Thursday from 10 until time of service. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Don in a special way, may direct memorials to Racine Lutheran High School.
