Jack Lee Boone

MUKWONGO - Jack Lee Boone, 83, of Mukwonago WI, died February 14, 2015. Jack Boone, son of James and Augusta Boone, husband of Melly Boone, passed away at his home after a long illness from cancer. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Melly Boone. He is also survived by his sister, Mary (Harry) Mayer of Seattle WA, children Richard Boone (Jeanne Dau) of Austin TX, Carolyn Boone (Keith Kinzel) of Brookfield WI, Dale Boone (Sue Kelly) and their children Kyle and Ryan of Onalaska WI, and granddaughter Jackie Estes (Casey Estes) of New York NY. Jack was born in Racine WI and attended Horlick HS. He enlisted in the Army serving as a radar technician, then attended UW Madison on GI bill, graduating with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering. Jack had a 31 year career at Snap-on Tools as an Electrical Engineer and manager, where he designed and patented automotive test equipment, until his retirement in 1988. His hobbies flourished in retirement, especially building and flying RC and Free Flight airplanes, with competition flights through the Bong Eagles Club. He also loved piloting and maintaining his Cessna 172 for 35 years, with many Sunday breakfast flights. Jack will be missed by many friends, from his Racine neighborhood to the East Troy Airport; both friends and family will miss his humor and stories. There will be a time to meet with family and friends at Sturino Funeral Home on Sunday, February 22, 2015 from 10 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11 a.m. Luncheon will follow at Infusino’s Banquet Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Honor Flight would be appreciated.
