Jacqueline Maresh Obituary
May 11, 1941 - January 7, 2025
RACINE - Jacqueline "Jackie" Maresh passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at her residence, after a valiant four year battle with cancer.
Jackie was born on May 11, 1941, to the late Edmund Newman and the late Edith Pokrant (Richard Pokrant) in Marshfield, Wis. Jackie was a graduate of Washington Park High School "Class of 1959."
On November 17, 1961, she married the love of her life, R. James "Jim" Maresh, who preceded her in death on January 14, 1995. She was employed by Braun's Fashions, Lakeview Pharmacy, and Dover Flag & Map.
Survivors include her two daughters, Jayme Maresh and Jodi (Robert) Bartels, both of Racine; brother, Dennis Newman of Parker, Colo.; sister-in-law, Vicki Pokrant of Franksville, Wis.; and other family and friends. Special cousin, Sharon Tyrolt of Hayward, Wis. and special friend, Janet Loppnow of Waukesha, Wis.; and the high school girls breakfast club. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Richard Pokrant; sister, Judy Bebow; brothers, Edd Newman, Rick Pokrant; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray Maresh and Genevieve Maresh.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 13, 2025, 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Monday, at the funeral home, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32.
Donations to the family have been suggested as a memorial in Jackie's name will be established.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Jeanne Melenic-Eh, Vicki Pokrant, Wendy Jacobsen, Dr. Pryomski, Dr. Melguizo, Dr. Nawaz and the Aurora Cancer Center for their help during her courageous fight.
