James Berger Obituary

BURLINGTON - James D. Berger, 68, passed away peacefully at Aurora Memorial Hospital- Burlington. Born in Milwaukee on May 12, 1948, he was the son of Joseph and Rose (nee Stange) Berger. He spent his early life in Milwaukee where he graduated from Boys Tech High School. Following high school he proudly served his country in the Marines during the Vietnam War. On August 18, 1984 he was united in marriage to Linda Ann Whiting, in Whitnall Park in Hales Corners. Following marriage they made their home in Waterford until moving to Burlington two years ago. Jim worked for Birchwood Transport for 33 years doing over the road transport. He enjoyed researching history and loved watching movies, listening to music and spending time with his friends at Chances. He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters, Kim (Tom) Steffy and Karen Penfield; and grandchildren, Samuel, Grace, Harris, Drew and Baxter. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Kelly Jorgenson. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice. The family would like to thank the ICU nurses, Jean and Carol from Burlington Hospital for their wonderful care. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Chances Restaurant, 205 W. Main St., Rochester, WI 53167. Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory 625 S.
