James Floyd Obituary

James Edward Floyd

March 13, 1949 - August 27, 2025

James E. Floyd was born on March 13, 1949, the son of Lyal and Mildred Floyd.

James "Jim" Floyd passed away at his up-north lakehouse on August 27, 2025, which was his favorite place on earth.

He is survived by his children, Brian(Lisa), and their children, Caleb and Jadyn, Melanie Marks (Ben) and Jim Floyd.

He is also survived by his wife, Mary Bridgette Murphy and her children, Abbey Hernandez (Alfredo), Bart Cameron (Laila), and Ethan Cameron (Lisha); grandchildren, Sean, Alfredo Jr., Josephine, Isabella, Mateo, Cecil, Ella, Una, Donavan, Kylie, and Brody.

Jim spent much of his career in education, serving as principal at St. Sebastian's and Holy Name before returning to public school teaching in his later years with an emphasis on special needs students.

He was a man of endless "Jimmy Jobs" - remodels, add-ons, and backyard engineering feats that were equal parts creative, chaotic, and occasionally questionable. His lakehouse stands as both a monument to his determination and a warning to future builders.

A Celebration of Life.

In lieu of a formal service, the family will host an open house. Please feel free to drop in anytime. All are welcome. Bring your best "Jimmy Job" story. Wednesday, October 22 1 to 4 p.m. Nonna's Pizzeria and Pub 8607 Durand Ave Sturtevant, WI 53177.

Yesterday

Jim was great cousin I'll never forget. I was jealous of his many talents with regards to his innovative abilities regarding his knowledge if electronics, his mechanical skills, his building skills, and many many more. He was a neat guys I'll always remember.
