James H. "Jim" Ramsey, age 82, passed away on October 30, 2025, in Las Vegas, NV.
Born on December 12, 1942 in New Albany, MS to Henderson Sr. and Mandy (nee: Gatheren) Ramsey, he moved to Racine at the age of 17 where he lived until 2024 when he moved to Las Vegas.
An avid outdoorsman, he found great joy in camping, fishing, hunting, boating, and water skiing.
He is survived by his children, April (Joseph) Smith of Upper Marlboro, MD and Corey Ramsey of Las Vegas, NV; granddaughter, Tyra Ramsey of Minneapolis, MN; brother, L.C. (Dawn) Ramsey of Copperas Cove, TX; sister, Ernestine Ramsey of Racine; sisters-in-law, Margaret Ramsey of Dyersburg, TN; Evelyn Ramsey of Oxford, MS, and Francis Ramsey of Racine; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers-Murphy, Walter, George Sr., Henderson, Johnny, and Willie Ramsey; and five sisters-Molene, Mae Lou, Flora Lee, Mae Emma, and Vivian.
May his memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved him.
A memorial service to honor his life will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Infusino's Banquet Hall, 3201 Rapids Dr., Racine, at 1:00 p.m.
