Joseph "Adam" Malin Jr.

Joseph Malin Obituary

. NEW IBERIA, LA. - Joseph 'Adam' Malin Jr., 19, died violently on the afternoon of Friday, July 10, 2009, in New Iberia, La. as a result of mistaken identity. Adam was a perpetually cheerful and gentle young man. Adam was born October 1, 1989, in New Orleans, La. and over the past several months, he had lived with various friends in New Iberia, La. Adam had arranged to be picked up at 3 p.m. July 10, 2009, so he could move back to live with his mother in Lafayette, La. while attending USL in the Fall. Unfortunately, his mother and aunt arrived on the scene while the ambulance was leaving to take him to the New Iberia Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:45 p.m. Adam is survived by his father, Joseph A. (fiancée, Aaliyah Mathews) Malin Sr. of Mount Pleasant; grandmother, Florence Malin of Panama City Beach, Fla.; aunts and uncles, Cindy and Ron Christner of Cincinnati, Ohio, Melanie and John Campbell of Atlanta, Ga., Stephanie and Tony Hawking of Kentucky, Bill and Sue Malin of Georgia, and John and Jim Malin of Lafayette, La.; as well as many paternal extended family members, grandparents, Donald and Delores Kent of Lafayette, La.; and the extended maternal family members of his mother, Dr. Jennifer Kent Malin-Noell; and his sister, Elizabeth K. Malin of Lafayette, La. He was preceded in death by his loving grandfather, John A. Malin; and step- mother, Mary K. Malin. Aunt Cindy Christner gave a memorable, heartfelt eulogy in front of hundreds of Adam's family and friends when he was put to rest Tuesday, July 14, 2009, in Lafayette, La.

Life is a book in volumes three-
The past, the present, and the yet-to-be.
The past is written and laid away,
The present we're writing every day,
And the last and best of volumes three
Is locked from sight - God keeps the key.

My thoughts are with you at this most difficult time. I recently suffered the loss of dear loved ones. I was able to find comfort from caring family members and friends, as well as, God's Word, the Bible. My hope is that God who comforts us in all our tribulations, comfort you at this time.

When tragedy strikes and takes the life of our loved ones, we cry out with great sorrow. Be assured that your tears are not unnoticed by the Creator of life. Although your deep pain will not easily disappear, praying to God will bring comfort to you as you grieve. The Bible tells us that God is "healing the broken-hearted ones, and is binding up their painful spot". May the "Father of tender mercies" and the "God of all comfort" strengthen your faith and give you courage to face the days ahead. (1Corinthians 1:3) I am very sorry for your loss.
