Marissa Shulak Obituary

Marissa (nee: Mario Carol Christianson) Shulak

February 28, 1935 - June 5, 2025

RACINE, WI - Marissa Shulak (nee: Mario Carol Christianson), age 90, passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon, June 5, 2025 at Lincoln Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Marissa was born in Racine on February 28, 1935, daughter of the late Roy and Helen (nee: Blandin) Christianson.

Marissa graduated from Horlick High School class of 1952, attended Lawrence College and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega. On January 15, 1955, Marissa was united in marriage to the love of her life, William F. Shulak at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church. They shared 64 wonderful years together before he preceded her in death on September 20, 2019. She graduated from Carthage College, Kenosha, in 1972 with a major in English and minors in Education, History, and French. She retired from Wheaton Franciscan Health Care – All Saints with twenty-five years of service in the Environmental Services and other departments. Marissa enjoyed staying in touch with her high school classmates, sorority sisters and her friends from the Unity Church. When she wasn't working or raising her family, Marissa loved her time spent with her family and friends, especially their trips up north.

Marissa will be dearly missed by her children: Donna (Stephen) Bing, Thomas (Debra) Shulak, Robert (Lynn) Shulak; grandchildren: Scott Bing, Cameron and Delayna Shulak, Gabe, Brendan and Connie Eggert; cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends at Fountain Hills Senior Apartments.

Marissa was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Helen Christianson; uncle, Sherman Wesley Blandin Jr., (Captain, USN retired) of Monterrey,CA; aunt, Carol Blandin Mahnke Staas Kukula of Albuquerque, NM; and an infant daughter at birth, Theresa Mary.

The family extends their special thanks to Dr. Robert Gullberg and Dr. Prakesh Shah, and to Senior Helpers of Racine for their kind and compassionate care.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m., until 11:00 a.m., on Monday, June 16, 2025 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Private interment will be at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery with her husband, William F. Shulak.
