I was a childhood friend of Mark's as our paths crossed at St John's and Racine Lutheran and family connections between Willy and my Dad. I just found out about his illness and wish I could have spoken to him. As with all graduates of St John's, we were blessed with great Christian teachers who built that foundation for us. I know Mark believed his salvation was by grace through faith in Christ alone. He no longer lives with pain or distress, but lives with our God who promises life with Him eternal. Soli Deo Gloria. I will always have fond memories of Mark. I first met him when he owned Ike's Bar and he sponsored our softball team. You will never find a nicer guy, and someone who cared so deeply for Racine. Rest in peace Mark. You will be missed by many friends and family.

Met Mark when he was a sports reporter almost four decades ago with the Journal-Times. Always found his coverage fair and objective.
As the years progressed, knew Mark as a business owner, Minor League Football administrator, politician and media personality. Have often thought just how different (better and developing) Racine would be today had he won his Mayoral campaign.
Godspeed mark - and blessings to your brother, when you see him. No one cared more for our fair city.
