Mary Matagrano Obituary
RACINE - Mary C. (nee: Porcaro) Matagrano, 99, passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2006. Mary was born in Racine on May 8, 1906, daughter of the late Fiore and Barbara (nee: DeNoto) Porcaro, the eldest of 11 children. On October 20, 1923, she was united in marriage at St. Lucy's Catholic Church to Anthony 'Mack' Matagrano, who preceded her in death on July 12, 1969. Mary was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Golden Mothers of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Vittoria Colonna, All Saints Healthcare Volunteers, and a former chartered member of Meadowbrook Country Club. She was a dearly loved mother, loving grandmother and great-grandmother. Mary was a devoted sister to her family and sweet and loving aunt to her nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by all. Survivors include her daughter, Marie Missureli; her grandson, Bud Missureli of Scottsdale, Ariz.; her great-grandchildren, Tanya Missureli of Phoenix, Ariz., Peter Missureli of Scottsdale, Ariz.; sister, Betty Valente; brothers, Anthony Porcaro, Joseph (Anna Marie) Porcaro, and Earl (Jo) Porcaro, all of Racine; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Oscar Brusha, Helen and Russell Missureli, Elena and William Anderson, all of Racine, Frank Matagrano of Los Altos, Calif.; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Peter Missureli; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Luigi and Mary Matagrano; four sisters, Rose Porcaro, Louise Young, Lucille Brusha, and Grace Mascari; and two brothers, Herman and Frank Porcaro. Complete Funeral services will be held Monday, February 20, 2006, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1533 Erie Street. Relatives and friends may meet with the family from 10 until 10:45 a.m. At 10:45 a.m., the Ladies of Vittoria Colonna will conduct their service followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. John D. Aiello officiating. Entombment will follow at Calvary Garden Crypts. Memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church have been suggested.
