Phyllis Evans Obituary

Phyllis M. Evans, 96, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away at her residence on Friday, May 9, 2025.
Her celebration of life will be held in the funeral home on Friday, May 23rd, at 6 p.m. Visitation will be from 4 p.m., until the time of the service. Private burial will be in Mound Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to the Health Care Network Inc. 500 Wisconsin Ave., Racine, WI 53403 or to the Herma Heart Institute at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Campus 8915 Connell Ct., Milwaukee, WI 53226.

Mrs. Evan´s was my teacher in fourth grader at Gifford Elementary School in Racine Wisconsin. She had us keep binders with news articles and I recall my father giving me an article on acid rain to be more aware of what was going on in our country! It was my first step toward being a progressive environmental activist. I appreciate that introduced us to knowing more about the world around us. She was sweet and calm in class, and had a great demeanor in our class. Her smile was very heart warming. I also recall before sex ed became so taboo she was in charge of teaching us about our bodies and for that I will be forever grateful. Many blessings to her for being a fantastic teacher!
