Raymond D. Hoeffert
RACINE – Raymond D. Hoeffert, 81, passed away at home on Saturday, February 2, 2013. Ray was born in Racine on June 29, 1931 to Theodore and Laura (nee, Becker) Hoeffert. He was united in marriage to the former E. Marie Sharer on November 22, 1956 at Trinity Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death on February 15, 2012. Ray proudly served his country as a member of the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He retired from S.C. Johnson & Sons after more than thirty-two years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Survivors include his son, David (Laurie) Hoeffert; grandchildren, Andrea Hoeffert, Melissa Fairbanks, Shanna Fredericks, Taylor Hoeffert and Paige Hoeffert. He is further survived by great-grandchildren, Tommy, Deanna, Freddy, Jackson, Ethan, Evelyn and Matthew. Roy is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Theodore Hoeffert, Jr. In keeping with Ray’s wishes, cremation will take place. Inurnment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. A Celebration of Ray’s Life will take place at Bucket’s Pub, 2031 Lathrop Avenue, on Friday, March 1, 2013 beginning at 5 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Racine Lutheran High School or a charity of one’s choice.
