September 6, 1957 - August 15, 2025

HUSTISFORD, WI – Robert "Bob" Dean Van Caster, age 67, passed away unexpectedly, after suffering a cardiac event, on Friday, August 15, 2025.

Robert "Bob" was born in Kenosha, WI on September 6, 1957 to the late Robert Gerald Van Caster and Lyndell (nee: Licht) Van Caster. A graduate of Marshall High School in Milwaukee, Bob began serving his tool and die apprenticeship at age 17. With a profound work ethic, he was a talented journeyman tool and die maker for his entire career, retiring at age 62.

On April 25, 1987 at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Racine, Bob was united in marriage with the love of his life, Donna Jean (nee: Hagemann) Van Caster. They always dreamed of living on a lake. Their wish came true when they moved to Hustisford, WI on Lake Sinissippi in 1986.

As true car enthusiasts, Bob and Donna enjoyed spending time together in their 1956 Chevy two-door sedan, 1956 Chevy pick-up and 2011 synergy green Chevy Camaro. For many years, Bob served as a first responder for various race tracks. Always wanting to help others, Bob proudly help re-establish the Cub Scout troop in Hustisford where he was the Cub Master and volunteered to be the quartermaster of the annual summer Girl Scout camp for over ten years.. Among his other interests, Bob was quite the gardener; avid deer hunter; grilling and helping Donna can foods; and socializing at afternoon gatherings with his local friends. Above all, Bob loved being together with his entire family and was super honored to be "Grumpy Grandpa" to Lucas and Logan.

Surviving are his loving wife of 38 years, Donna; son, Robert Eugene (Heather) Van Caster; daughter, Mary Van Caster (husband, Stefan Morrison); grandsons, Lucas and Logan; brother, John (Marion) Van Caster; mother-in-law, Jean Hagemann; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Terry Graham, Paul (Karen) Hagemann, Phil (Ryen) Hagemann and Margo (Joe) Wiesner; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Van Caster; father-in-law, Eugene Hagemann; and brothers-in-law, John Graham and John Hagemann.
