Saul Gordon Obituary

ESCONDIDO, CALIF. - Saul Gordon, 69, formerly of Racine, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2005, at his residence. He was born in Racine on August 18, 1936, son of the late Louis and Sophie (nee: Mankawicz) Gordon. On April 13, 1991, Saul was united in marriage to LeEtta M. Vojak-Gronlund in Minneapolis, Minn. He was a graduate of William Horlick High School and served in the United States Air Force. Saul served on the Racine Police Department as a Police Officer for 32 years, until his retirement in 1993. In September, 2001, Saul and LeEtta moved to Escondido, Calif. for health reasons. For the next three summers, they journeyed East, stopping and visiting relatives and friends throughout the United States. Throughout his life, he enjoyed flying, traveling, golfing, bowling, playing pool, playing the organ, and being at the computer. He and LeEtta loved going on trips with friends and their RV's. After retirement, every winter they went back to Yuma, Ariz. to enjoy the warm, dry climate and the camaraderie of their friends they had made throughout the years. Saul is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife, LeEtta; extended families, Al (Pat Nguyen) Gronlund, Steve (Gina) Gronlund; and three beloved grandchildren, Zack, Alayna and Stefanie; son, Joseph Gordon; his sister, Rita Small; and other relatives and many dear friends. Also preceded in death by two infant daughters; and his brother, Conrad. Private Funeral services were held with Cantor Martyn Adelberg officiating. Entombment was held at Mound Cemetery. Memorials to the American Lung Association have been suggested. MARESH-MEREDITH AND ACKLAM FUNERAL HOME 803 Main Street 634-7888
