Warren Charles Green
December 26, 1928 - August 28, 2025
Warren passed away unexpectedly and peacefully in his sleep at the age of 96 on August 28, 2025. He was born in Racine on December 26, 1928 to Charles & Clara (Brandes) Green. He attended Lutheran High School and graduated in the first graduation class in 1948. Warren served in the US Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany.
Warren married the love of his life, Patricia Klema in 1954. They were married for 62 years. He met Pat on a blind date at a church roller-skating party. They were engaged at her parent's 25th anniversary party. They were blessed with three daughters, Barbara Jopke, Jennifer Ashley and Karen Spangenberg.
Warren was employed by Mohr Jones and American Crucible. After he retired he worked part time for the Johnson family. Warren was a very faithful person. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church where he served as a Trustee, Elder and Deacon. Warren always believed "FAITH MAKES MIRACLES HAPPEN".
Warren was living at Parkview apartments and had many wonderful friends, including his special friend MaryAnn. Warren's many interests included biking, walking, ice skating and cross country skiing with his friend Howie. He stayed current with the news, politics, city development, sports and family happenings. Warren cherished his family and life. Pat and Warren loved to attend activities and sporting events for their grandchildren over the years.
Pat and Warren loved to travel, especially with their good friends Russell and Gloria Weber and Howard and Gloria Schilke. They went on many trips and cruises together. A highlight of Warren's life was his trip on the Stars and Stripes Honor flight with his friend Howie to Washington, D.C. on September 21, 2013.
Warren is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara (Charles) Jopke, Jennifer (Dennis) Ashley and Mark Spangenberg. He was blessed with eight grandchildren, Brandon, Michael and Allison Jopke, Chad (Briana) Ashley, Dustin (fiancé Marlee Gustafson) Ashley, Christopher (Adrienne) Spangenberg, Thomas (Emily) Spangenberg, and Jeffrey (Emily Spangenberg).
He was also blessed with seven great grandchildren, Baylee, Lily, Grayson, Leo, Charlee, Madison and Griffin Spangenberg. He is also survived by his brother-in-law David Pfeilstifter and sister-in-law Beatrice Klema, nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, daughter Karen, grandson Michael Jopke, parents Charles and Clara, in-laws Walter and Marion (Peggy) Klema, two sisters Jane Pfeilstifter and Marion Green, and brother-in-law James Klema.
Visitation for Warren will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 3, 2025 from 2 to 4pm with a service to follow at 4pm. A meal to celebrate Warren's life will be held at Infusino's Restaurant, 3225 Rapids Drive, Racine, WI. The graveside committal service will be held on Thursday September 4, 2025 at West Lawn Cemetery, 9000 Washington Avenue Racine, WI at noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be donated to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight.
The family would like to thank Bob and Missy Malloy for all their love, kindness and friendship in Warren's life.
