SACO - Alan T. Bolduc, 58, of Saco, passed away Friday, Nov. 13, 2015, at his home.
Alan was born June 22, 1957, to Robert J. and June (Anderson) Bolduc. He was educated in Saco and was a 1975 graduate of Thornton Academy.
After high school, Alan enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard and was stationed in Sitka, Alaska, as an aviation electronics technician aboard a Coast Guard helicopter. While serving with the Coast Guard, Alan was awarded an achievement medal for "diligence, perseverance and devotion" to duty for his part in a rescue mission of a capsized fishing vessel in which three lives were saved.
As a youngster, Alan served as an altar boy at St. Margaret's Church in Old Orchard Beach, which is "funny" to all those who knew and loved Alan, as he loved "getting into mischief."
Alan loved cars and had worked with several dealerships through his career. Most recently, he was a self-employed dealer. Along with his dad and family, Alan was an avid Patriots fan.
He was known to be a wonderful, kind person with a big heart who was always willing to help anyone. Alan's father was his "hero" and he was happy to have spent a great deal of time with his father before he passed away last April. There was not a kinder, more generous man. What made Alan the happiest in this world was seeing the ones he loved happy. This is a trait that he inherited from his hero in life, his dad.
Besides his mother and father, Alan was preceded in death by his sister, Kimberly Bolduc Roberts.
He is survived by: his stepmother, Charlotte Bolduc; his brother, Dr. Robert Bolduc Jr. and his wife Nancy; two sisters, Debra Stetson and her husband Lloyd, all of Saco, and Lynn Jones and her husband Ryan of Sarasota, Florida; his partner of many years, Joan Foster; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Alan's family plans to honor him at a private graveside service with military honors. Arrangements are by Hope Memorial Chapel 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. In lieu of flowers, please support your local food pantry. To share condolences online, please visit www.hopememorial.com.

I'm really sorry to hear that Alan has passed, we were in boot camp together. He was a good friend to me then and I will always be grateful for his friendship. I've thought about him often over the years and always intended to look him up. But something always seemed to come up. I regret waiting so long especially since I only lived in the Bangor area. Again, I'm sorry.
