BIDDEFORD - Madeleine E. LaBrecque, 88, of Biddeford, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.
She was born in Biddeford on Oct. 2, 1928, a daughter of Alfred and Isabelle (Benson) Vanasse. She graduated from St. Joseph's High School, Class of 1947.
Madeleine was employed by the Unity Shop and later owned and operated the Little Folks Shop in Saco for many years.
Madeleine cherished her family and the time she spent with them. She especially enjoyed the special times with her grandchildren. Madeleine was also an excellent cook and liked to prepare meals for her family. She will be sadly missed.
Mrs. LaBrecque was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Biddeford.
She was predeceased by her husband Roland in December 1980 and by one son John. in May 1974.
She is survived by one son Bryan LaBrecque and his wife Lisa of Biddeford; two grandchildren, Travis LaBrecque and his wife Gina and Renee Richardson and her husband Jeff; and four great-grandchildren Coura Beth, Mathias, Cheyeanna and Mya. She is also survived by one step-granddaughter Olivia Libby and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 22, 2017, at St. Joseph Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
