BIDDEFORD - Peggy "Margaret" Morrison, 79, of Saco, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, at Southern Maine Healthcare in Biddeford.
Mrs. Morrison was born in Portland on Nov. 22, 1936, a daughter of Jeremiah and Helena Mae (Callan) Guiney. She was raised in Saco and graduated from Thornton Academy, Class of 1954. She also attended Our Lady of Mercy College.
Mrs. Morrison owned and operated a daycare for many years. Her hobbies included knitting and quilting. Most of all, she enjoyed her family and friends.
She was past president of the former YWCA, Camp Laughing Loon, and a member of the Catholic Women's Club, the York County Cuties Red Hat Society and Seniority Saco Parks and Rec.
Mrs. Morrison was a parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Church in Saco.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, J. Thomas Morrison, on Jan. 18, 2005; her daughter, Cathy Lilienthal, on Dec. 8, 2011; and brothers Jeremiah and Philip.
She is survived by: five children, Jack Morrison and his wife Sheri of Saco, Margo Baker and her husband Mark of Kennebunk, Lauri Randall and her husband Tim of Saco, Lyn Eaton and her husband Bob of Saco, and Mary LeBlanc and her husband Tony of Saco; and son-in-law Arthur Lilienthal of Baldwinsville, New York.
She is also survived by: 13 grandchildren, Brian, Emma, Thomas, Arthur, Michael, Ashley, Andrew, Patrick, Fred, Samantha, Mollie, Abby and Katie; five great-grandchildren, Jack, Ava, Alanna, Arthur IV and Haven; two sisters, Nancy Grant of South Portland and Kate Warner of Windsor, Ontario, Canada; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, at Cote Funeral Home, 87 James St., Saco. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at Most Holy Trinity Church, Good Shepherd Parish in Saco. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Biddeford. I am so sorry about the passing of Peg. She was a great lady and I am privileged to have known her. She was always there when her family needed her. I know she is happy to be with her loved ones that passed before her!
