Alfred E. Koplin Jr.

Koplin, Alfred E., Jr. Age 80, of Naples, FL, died Friday, July 20, 2007. He was born in Milwaukee, WI on January 28, 1927, attended St Gerard's Grade School and graduated Pulaski High School in 1945. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in the South Pacific until 1947. He attended Michigan State University and graduated in 1951 with a degree in Forestry and Park Management. He began his career with the Milwaukee County Park System and retired after 35 years as Superintendent of the Milwaukee County Parks. He was a member of the san Carlos Golf Club and past President of the Landmark Investors Club. He was also a charter member of Landmark's Model Railroad Club. Mr. Koplin is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Irene M. (nee Neuhoff, Summers) Koplin, his children, Mark (Anne) Koplin of Lisle, IL, Barbara (Charles) White of South Bend, IN and Susan Haffermann of Ames, IA, grandchildren, Elizabeth Anne, Melanie, Bradley, Christopher, Katy and Patricia and his beloved sister, Emily Koplin of Milwaukee, WI. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Catherine (nee Keller) and his daughter, Kelly. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, August 23, 2007 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 625 111th Ave. N., Naples. Inurnment will follow with military honors in the church memorial garden.
