Alfred Zietlow Obituary

Zietlow, Alfred John Edward Jr. "Al" Of Delafield, was born to Eternal Life on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his beloved soulmate Valary. Al will forever be remembered as the loving and caring father of Amy (Alan) Buss and Andrew (Kristin) Zietlow; as dearest Grandpa of Kiley, Nathaniel and Bennett Buss and Olivia and Emmaleigh Zietlow. Along with his great love and care for his own family, Al was fully committed to serving others. Known as "Mr. Arrowhead", he tirelessly strived to make Arrowhead High School a model of excellence. Education was his passion. Sporting his legendary bow ties, he was an ardent teacher, administrator, project manager, school board member, treasurer for CESA 1, and life-long learner. Every employee mattered to Al. His work in the Arrowhead School District spanned 61 years. Al's service extended into the communities of Delafield and Hayward as well, serving as alderman and president of the Nagawicka Lake and Callahan Lake Associations. Al and Valary were longtime members of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Hartland and the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Hayward. His greatest love was spending time with Valary and his family at the lake. He treasured his time in Hayward, whether fishing, networking, or working on his numerous projects. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 12th from 4 PM until 5:45 PM at Our Saviors Lutheran Church W299 N5782 County Road E, Hartland followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 6 PM concluding with full military honors outside church. Private burial Hartland Annex Cemetery. If so desired, memorials may be made to the Arrowhead Scholarship Fund or Our Saviors Lutheran Church.

To all the family of Mr. Zietlow. Please accept my sympathy. I had him as a teacher at Arrowhead. I'll always remember him with his bowties. He had quite a collection. The last time I saw him was at the 50th AHS reunion. He gave us a tour of the building.. which certainly changed over the years. God Bless all of you. R.I.P Mr. Zietlow

My condolences to the family of Mr. Zietlow. He was my teacher for Physical Science and Biology at Arrowhead. He was an excellent teacher who thrived on instilling knowledge and enhancing the learning experience with passion. He would inject humor in his delivery and I appreciate and am glad to have had experienced a truly wonderful instructor and a template for what a teacher and a diligent citizen should be. God bless him.
