Andrew Mudrick Obituary

Mudrick, Andrew G. October 23, 1926 - July 6, 2010. Andy Mudrick slept peacefully into death at home on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at the age of 83. He was born October 23, 1926, in Neenah, Wisconsin, to Andrew and Marion (nee Exferd) Mudrick, and was raised in Wabeno and Milwaukee by his mother and stepfather, Roy Wilson, after his father's death when Andy was two years old. In 1945 he graduated from Milwaukee Boys Technical and Trade High School, and enlisted in the United States Navy. Aboard the Light Cruiser U.S.S Fargo, he cruised to South America, Naples, Italy and Trieste late in World War II. He was united in marriage to Shirley June Gleason on December 29, 1945, enjoying 61 years of marriage before her death in 2007. They raised four children, Roy (Carol) Mudrick, Robin Mudrick, Jill (Jerry) Sielaff and Tim Mudrick (deceased). Andy loved his grandchildren, Jonathan Mudrick (deceased), Lisa (Brian) Decker, Joshua Wickstrom, Jacob Almos, and Zach, Corey and Christopher Sielaff. The blessings of a long life also included his adored great-grandchildren Shaley, Kaitlynn, Isaac, Mikala, Josiah, and Kara. In addition to his dear son Tim, beloved grandson Jonathan, parents-in-law Thomas and Margaret Gleason and parents, Andy was preceded in death by his brother Richard, brothers-in-law Lowell, Clayton and Jerry Gleason and Raymond Young, and sister-in-law Betty Young. He is further survived by sisters-in-law Joan, Angie and Melba Gleason, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Andy was retired after more than thirty years of service to the Ladish Company in Cudahy, where he was very proud to have participated in the manufacture of metal forgings for the space program. His many other interests included a lifetime of playing the violin, community theater productions, debating topics of the day, hunting and fishing, and building and flying model airplanes more recently. Visitation with the family will be from 4 to 5 PM on Friday, July 16, at Max A. Sass and Sons Greenridge Chapel, 4747 S. 60th St., Greenfield, with a memorial service following, also at the Chapel.

Dear Jill, Robin and Roy,
Our prayers are with you all in this sad time. Like you, we fondly remember the fun times - on Koonz Lake, with the Suburban Players, (with us kids playing while they rehearsed!), and the campfires with Andy playing the fiddle, Dad (Harlyn) on the guitar, and the rest of us singing along.

Blessings and peace to you all - Marsha Herriges Berenson & John Berenson

I first knew Andy and Shirley in the 50's.
I went to work at Ladish in 1951, my Dad was Andy's superviser at that time.
My wife Ruth worked with them on several production, My 3 Angles, and South Pacific. We still kept in touch and we will miss them both.

Dear Roy, Robin, Jill and family, Oh how well I remember all of the fun times we had at the lake and the early years of the Suburban Players. Shirley and Andy are really aunt and uncle to me and I know how very sad you all are. Take care all and if you are ever in Seattle, please look me up. Love, Dav'ne
