Sjostrom, Bert T. Went home to the Lord on Sunday, September 27, 2015, age 86 years. Cherished husband for 53 years of the late Marjorie (nee Mahnke) Sjostrom. Loving father of David Sjostrom, Margaret "Peggy" Hanson and Eric "Rick" Sjostrom. Devoted brother of the late Charles Sjostrom. Dear brother-in-law of Dorothy ( the late Rev. Gilbert) Croll of Baltimore, MD, Ruth (David) Schultz of Racine, William (Jude) Mahnke of Racine, and the late John Mahnke of Racine. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other family, friends and his granddog "Rory". Visitation at the Funeral Home THURSDAY, October 1, 2015 from 4:00-7:30 PM. Funeral Services at 7:30 PM. Interment services Friday 11 AM from the Funeral Home to Arlington Park Cemetery. (Please meet at the Funeral Home at 10:15 AM for the procession to the cemetery). Bert was a 7 year veteran of the U.S. Navy Reserve. He spent two of those years on active duty during the Korean War. He retired from Harnischfeger Corp. after 44 years of service. Bert was also a lifelong member of the Bay View Baptist Church. He was most proud of being a 60 year active member of Tripoli Shrine Temple, the Legion of Honor and was a 32nd degree Master Mason, Scottish Rite, Valley of Milwaukee. The family would also like to thank the staff of Aurora At Home VNA Zilber Family Hospice for their care and the compassion shown to Bert during his time of need.
