Our Christmas card to Betty was returned today, so that is how we found out something had happened to her. We hoped that it was just that she had moved to Florida to be closer to Sandy. So sorry to hear the real reason. Betty was the closest thing I ever had to a sister, since we at times lived in the same house. Sandy, Ken and I have seen your mom several times over the last few years, and she always seemed so strong and active. Please let us know what happened if it's OK with you to talk about it. I loved her a lot as I was growing up -- she was 6 years older than I am. I'm going to miss seeing her -- we tried to stop in Milwaukee to see her on our way back from Wisconsin (usually in early fall), but missed last year because at that time Ken wasn't doing too well and we needed to get home to Illinois. Please accept our very belated condolences -- she was a very special person.
