Brian Kittel Obituary

Kittel, Brian C. Passed away suddenly and tragically in the early morning hours of Christmas Day 2009. Born Sept. 15, 1982, Brian was a beloved and loving son and brother, and a friend to many. A 2003 graduate of Greendale High School, he recently entered the culinary arts apprenticeship program through MATC and was working as an apprentice chef at one of Milwaukee's finest restaurants, eagerly looking forward to the future with hope and anticipation. His passing leaves a great void in many hearts. Born in Greenville, SC, Brian moved to Greendale at the age of 4 with his parents and lived in the Milwaukee area the rest of his life. He is survived by his mother Patricia (Serber) Kittel of Waukesha, father Charles Kittel of Wauwatosa, brother Aaron Kittel, stepmother Lisa Blackburn, step-sisters Stephanie (Kerber) Stodola and Jessica Kerber, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial Visitation Saturday, January 2, 2010, from 12 noon until time of Memorial Service at 2PM, at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1875 N. Calhoun Rd., Brookfield. In lieu of flowers or memorials, please honor Brian's love and compassion for animals by making a charitable donation to the Wisconsin Humane Society. CHURCH AND CHAPEL Ritter - Larsen Bros. 1875 N. I worked with Brian when we were both young high school kids at Animal Crackers Pets. A great sense of humor, and a great guy. I never heard he passed, it is really sad to hear. I'll always remember him as a gentle giant... Adam Graves

On behalf of Wauwatosa East High School and our Music Department, we'd like to thank you for your generous donation of Brian's electronic piano to our music department. It's clear from reading the guest book that Brian was a caring, generous human being. And from speaking with his father and step-mother it appears that music was a relatively new love of his, second only perhaps to his culinary interests. We hope that it brings some measure of comfort to Brian's family and friends that the students of Wauwatosa East High School will be creating beautiful music with this generous gift. Our condolences to all of Brian's family and friends.

My heartfelt condolences go out to Brian's entire family and circle of friends.

In reality, our presence here on Earth is just a short blink of time for each of us, but it sounds like Brian used that short time to make the world a better place while he was here!! He brought happiness to so many and his memory will never be lost to the people who were lucky enough to know him and love him.

I can truly relate and sympathize with your deep loss. There is never enough time to spend with those we love, but our lives are forever changed and enhanced by the joy that they have given us during that precious time.

Brian, may your Journey continue in Peace, Love, and Light!

It is very hard to imagine Brian is gone. I still remember those days in kindergarten of Jason and Brian playing together, and later all of us getting together on the many occasions just to hang out. Though we have lost touch over the years those early memories of our families all coming together will always hold a special place in my heart! Patti, Charlie, Aaron and all the members of your families our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of loss! Love Sharon Jarosz (Garver) Jason & Erica

Dear Brian
I spent most of the afternoon at your apartment today, with some of your best friends - Neil, Callie, both the Josh's, Travis and Nikki, Pete, Jake, Dan (not your past landlord, the other Dan), Aaron with Clarissa, and Lisa, of course. It was wonderful to listen to the stories they had of you, and to see the love they had for you. We laughed a lot, and I cried a bit, and nobody can believe that we will never see you again. I created a Facebook page of you for everyone to stay in touch, and we're planning a party at the Lone Rock property to honor your memory on your birthday. I thick we'll be able to add Anthony's memory in there too.

I miss you so much.

As coordinator of the MATC Culinary Apprentice Program it was a pleasure working with Brian towards his goal as a chef. I know he was well liked among his fellow students and the faculty at the college. It is a real tragedy to lose someone like Brian who was so young and so full of passion for his career. He had great potential to go far in the culinary field. My condolences to all of his family and friends.

Brian was a special and unique individual and a much-loved nephew. I'll always remember how he rearranged my Christmas ice-skating figures (to "show off their talents") and his enthusiasm for Wii. He will be missed by all who knew him, and my thoughts and prayers are with Patti, Charlie, Lisa, and Aaron at this difficult time.
