Candy Swosinski Obituary

Swosinski, Candy Jo (Nee Hoem) Born in Waukegan, IL, on July 12, 1956. Entered Eternal Life unexpectedly on May 8, 2012 at the age of 55. Resident of Shorewood. Beloved wife of the late Gregory Swosinski. Treasured daughter of Elizabeth Hoem and the late John Hoem. Loving sister of Sue (Dan) Henry. Cherished aunt "Cork" of Tony (Emmy) Henry and Rachel (Brian) Elliott as well as great aunt of Nate and Elizabeth Henry and Annika and Sam Elliott. She is further survived by other relatives and wonderful friends and neighbors. Candy was a graduate of Waukegan High School and UW Parkside. She was known for her love of dogs and the loyal companionship she found in them. She treasured her time with her neighbors and was always willing to lend a helping hand. However, most of all was the obvious love she had for her family, especially her nieces and nephews, doting over them as if they were her own children. Candy was a compassionate person whose passion for life will live on in all those who knew her. Visitation will take place at the Feerick Funeral Home on Saturday, May 12, from 10:00 AM until 11:30 AM. A service at the funeral home will follow at 11:30 AM. Interment at Mount Olivet Cemetery will be private. Memorials in Candy's name may be made to the Wisconsin Humane Society, 4500 W. Wisconsin Ave., Milwaukee, WI 53208.

Nancy and I so sad to hear of Candy"s death it was a great shock when a JCI co-worker called me. Candy was a great boss and even better friend. She always had that contagious laugh and took a genuine interest in others lives. When I would call, she always said it was great to hear my voice. I enjoyed the times helping her with snowblowers, siding on the house, or us coming for dinner. Her dogs were always a lot of fun Luke in particular would sneak up from behind and dare you to catch him. We will miss seeing Candy. We have all lost a dear friend, never to be replaced. May the Lord Jesus comfort her family in this time of grief and loss

Candy left us way too early in life. We were neighbors on Jarvis St for a long time. Our children used to watch her and her dog for many an hour. Jarvis Street will not be the same. To all her family our deepest condolences.

Candy left this earth way too soon! We all can imagine the joy of her meeting up again with Greg, Molly and Luke, and find joy in that thought. I was Candy's first manager at JCI. She was such a joy to have as an employee and friend. She towered over me and we always had a good laugh about that. Candy's sweet and generous personality was appreciated by so many. I will never forget her!

Although we were only neighbors with Candy for 10 months, she was so welcoming of our family and invited us to the block parties even after we had moved away. We loved seeing Candy each time we were back on Jarvis. You will be dearly missed, the block will never be the same without you!! Our deepest condolences to the family.

Candy, you will be soooo missed at JCI. You were not only a co-worker but a dear friend to all. You took every opportunity to make someone feel special, to do a special deed, or to find out and ask about all of our families. Life seems so unfair at times but truly believe your being able to be with Greg, Molly & Luke again were always in God's plans for you. I will never forget our Monday morning chats, all the good advice or pat's on the back or the special baby blankets you made for my neices and nephews. I am honored to have known you.
