For My Son,
It has been a month since you left us. My life is empty without you. I will forever feel that something or somebody is missing.
My dear son. I am so very proud of you. You have touched the hearts of many fine friends, co-workers and your family.
It has been good for me to read and hear all the wonderful stories about you.
I will be eternally and forever grateful to have been your Mom. Our time together was way too short. I take comfort in my faith, knowing we will see each other again.
Love you honey boy,
Mom

PS Thank you everyone for caring and sharing

To Chad's family - My heart broke to hear of Scruffy's passing. I met and knew him as a close friend from 1988-93 - then I moved back to Denver and eventually we lost touch. I hadn't talked to or seen him since then, but he never left my heart. Someone you always felt so thankful and happy to see when you walked in the room, knowing you'd have a great time and lots of laughing would happen in Chad's presence. I've missed him over the past 14 years, and now - I'll miss him forever. I feel so thankful for having known and loved Chad. God bless and comfort you in your time of loss. All my best - Amy Merholtz (Geiger)

Life feels much emptier now without you here with us. Way back in the 1900's Chad and Lisa came into my life as well as many other members of the Miller family. I would not even try to begin counting all the blessings that have entered my life since then. The lessons learned and good times had are far too many for me to be able to number. From being made so welcome to share dinner with the family that I had to also do dishes along with the rest of the kids to riding plastic sleds down the stairs off the back porch knowing certain amounts of pain were waiting for us at the bottom of the custom made sled course. Just like life we jumped on those sleds, took the bumps and bruises, then jumped back on to face the music again. In the summers we fished, swam, canoed, innertubed, and searched the old dumps for beer cans to add to our collections. When we got older we did "Rockfords" in the old sedans, wheelies with the lawnmower, and whatever else we could think up to fill our time together. Wow Chad, How many road trips did we go on driving to races around the state? As our lives progressed we drifted apart and I just recently decided to look you up again. Unfortunately I was too late to get to spend some more time with you before you left us all much too soon. Scruff Dog, You have enriched my life a great deal and I will miss you very much. Until we meet again in our Lord's heavenly bike shop, I wish you Godspeed. Rest peacefully my friend.

I walked into the home farm about 2 months ago and told your aunt and uncle that the last time I was here was when me and you walked down from the hill and breakfast was waiting for us. The only way in past the german shepard was with you by my side. You a friend who I would come across maybe every few years but feel so in touch with as if we were going to breakfast on the farm the next morning. We all have a road we will go down tomorrow, we have faith it's the right one.I feel so selfish that some roads taken by others leaves me empty inside.I look foward for us to share breakfast again.

Chad, you have this way of making everything funny. If I was upset, you would make me laugh about it. Time spent with you was bound to create a funny story to tell. You filled my heart with joy, and I know that everyone must feel that way about you. Words are not enough.

I worked with chad only briefly at briggs and will greatly miss his personality around here.
He was always willing to talk about projects weather they been personal or at work and give advice which was always appreciated.
I wish I would have had more time to get to knwo him better and pick his brain for more tricks and go fast secrets

Quick to smile, laugh, encourage, cheer up...Chad put others before himself and truly cared about people.

He enjoyed simple pleasures and beautiful things: the arrival of spring; a sunny day.

Talented, creative, inspired. Chad was an artist. He had the courage to pursue his dreams and live with passion and purpose.

Chad knew better than most how to celebrate life and enjoy the ride.

Chad's memory leaves a lasting impression of love and kindness on my heart.

Peace and God's blessing to Chad's family and friends.

Godspeed Scruffy. Many memories, of the the tall skinny kid from Big Falls. Chad you always took friendship to a amazing level that most don't either understand or can't. Whether it was rubbing elbows with you on XR100s at the Cornfield Nationals, or coming out to your work, to see your latest rocket ship projects, you my friend where one of the special ones. No matter how much time went in-between hanging out it seemed like there was no time had passed when I'd see ya. We have many great memories, and we are going to miss you #37. Many perfect cushioned left turns to you forever, feet on the pegs.... On the gas. Godspeed #37

The purest heart and the greatest smile - a simple, beautiful individual. Chad helped me shop for my first bike and he would just listen to a bike and know it right away-it was something special to watch. I wish I could have shared the road with you just once.

You are and will be missed. in your own words - "There can be only one Chadillac".

Chad,

Your famous first line to me was always: "Did ya miss me?"

My eternal answer: "Forever and Always. More than you'll ever know."

Nothing gold can stay.

Love and miss you, buddy. Forever and always. More than you'll ever know.

I only knew you for a short time, but it was long enough to become like family. It was as if we knew each other forever. We were able to share some great times. Thanksgiving Dinner, Annual family Clam Bake, a day at the track to see you race. You were there for me when my sister passed away, and that meant more to me than anything. You were one of a kind. You will be greatly missed.
Thank you for all the memories.

Chad...you were an inspiration to me. Even though I only worked with you for a short time, I will always remember your insights into engines. I remember how I joked with you about being an "engine whisperer". My heart goes out to your family. I will always remember your free spirit.
