I express my heartfelt condolences to the Armeli family. I am shocked and saddened as I just learned of Chuck's passing. I knew Chuck as we both ran the high hurdles at Madison High School in the late 1970s. Chuck was a lot of fun to be with and was a kind soul. My prayers are with you all and may you take comfort with your fond memories of Chuck and the hope of eternal life.

I just found out about Chuck's passing. I,too, knew him from long ago at Engleburg school. We went to the same schools until graduation in 1977. His picture was one of the ones I would check out first in the yearbooks (I had a crush on him since 6th grade). I remember going to Pepino's on Villard often. They had the best pizza, and I could maybe catch a glimpse of Chuck, he was still so cute. I still have a Pepino's magnet on my refridge! My prayers go out to the family, may you be comforted by knowing how many people were touched by Chuck's life.

I was saddened and affected when I learned of Chuck's passing today. A few of us remember Chuck as the only guy at Samuel Morse Jr High School who drove a car. I know he made a lot of friends in James Madison High School and beyond. He has a truly great gift that he shared with many of us and that never leaves us. My sympathies to his family and friends.

Dear Joe, I was shocked when my parents called me to tell me that Chuck had passed. I remember him well from Burroughs Junior High and Madison High School. He was a great guy and athlete. I hadn't seen him since high school but I know my parents, Bill and Pat see you occasionally. Know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and Chuck's family.

Dear Joe, My prayers are with you and your family. I will always remember working with Chuck and how he liked talking about the Packers. There was also the one day he had some trouble and he and I become closer after that day. When he returned to work the next day and gave me a bear hug I knew he had a huge heart.

To The Armeli Family,
I am, so very sorry to hear of Chuck's passing. We went to Junior High School together and he was my very "first crush" as a young girl. I will always remember him affectionally as we "all" remember our first crushs! He was a friend when we were kids and I regret not taking the time to meet his wife and daughter. My heart goes to his family, wife and daughter. I believe he is now at peace and in God's hands.

I just heard of Chuck's passing and am deeply saddened. My heartfelt sympathies go out to the entire Armeli family. As a friend of Tony's I worked at the original Pepino's on Villard Avenue at age 16. Although three years younger, Chuck was very mature for his age. He used to like riding with me delivering pizzas and we shared many laughs. I can remember him laughing so hard, so many times. Chuck had a lot of joy in his heart. I'm glad that I knew him.

Best Friends
I met Chuck at Engleburg Elementary. He was my first best-friend. Friendship with an Armeli came with benefits: Sunday spaghetti dinners, being treated like a family member and witnessing the dream of a family business come to life.
Friendship also meant work. Delivering the Journal on a beautiful day when there were a million other things I'd rather be doing, trudging through the snow when I should have been in my warm bed at 4am on Sunday oblivious to the cold outside. At Pepinos I diced bags of the most potent onions ever grown. Writing and rewriting this Guest Book entry brought back all those tears. I enjoyed helping Chuck with the groceries. From the basement kitchen I would toss cans to him. He would place them on the shelves as fast as I could toss them. For him this was practice catching the winning touchdown. I remember his mother was proud of both of us when we got our first job together stocking shelves at STOP-N-GO.
Chuck the Chick Magnet
I remember a horde of screaming girls chasing him during a school recess. He literally was doing laps around the playground with half the school in pursuit. I guess he didn't want to get caught that day. He tried to teach me how to be smooth with the ladies. He must have realized he couldn't teach charisma and good looks. But he was my best friend, he tried.
Football. Anywhere. Anytime.
I remember coming from STOP-N-GO. There was an empty lot behind the store. A father was watching his son and a classmate toss around a football. The father started taunting us. We took the challenge. We shut the two kids out and quickly ran up the score. He never taunted us again.
Parent teacher conference day, no school a big rain soaked lot and a bunch of friends. The mud, the battle, the big plays ... this is how I will always remember Chuck ... playing the game he loved.

To the family, friends and relatives of Chuck Armeli. My prayers and love are with each and everyone of you. My heart truly broke when I heard of Chuck's death. I have spend countless hour's of endless day's going over picture's and memories of him, I thank God I have hundred's of such, although at this time they are way to painful to go to again for a very long time. I know one day they will bring me happiness as the pain gives way to happy memories, as it will in everyone's heart's, soul's and mind's. There are also way too many examples to pick one or two to write about here and now. He was such a huge and important part of my life for many, many years, I WILL NEVER FORGET HIM AS WELL AS ALWAYS HOLD HIM WITH LOVE IN MY HEART. as well as the love of the whole family.

I was very sad to hear about Chuck. It was Gods plan. I only regret that I did not keep in touch with him, the family, and everyone that was such a Great part of my life for so many years. I hope everyone will contact me so we can catch up. I have Great football memories of Chuck in High school and College. To this day I see him in school and during the family football games, running down the sideline after catching a pass and his long strides. He was unstopable when he didn't want to be caught. I can still picture us working together in the Old Days and the after work trips to Pike Lake and his Karate lessons with Vince. I know I will see him someday again in Heaven. Now, I miss him more than ever. May GOD BLESS HIM AND EVERYONE that has been fortunate enough to have known him.
