Dear Rose and family,
Charlie was such a wonderful man and co-worker. During the ten years that I was privileged to work with him, I never heard him speak ill of anyone. He was such a dedicated worker and a good friend to all of us.
He spoke of you and his sons and grandchildren with great love and pride. His 'work family' misses him and isn't the same without him.
I won't be able to call him 'Charlie, my boy' again except in my thoughts and prayers.
May you find comfort in your faith and the love of your family.

Charlie was one of the nicest and most fun people to work with at the street department. He always made me smile and I knew that when I worked with Charlie, the day would go by quicker. Charlie would always let me sit in the best chair in the sign shop during break, and was quick with a comment that would make us laugh. He was a good man, a proud father, and a wonderful person to work with. The crews and employees of the street departemnt, the friends and family of charlie, and the lives he touched will never forget him. We miss you Charlie.

Dad
I miss you already. I love you. The grandkids love you; Jonkeith and LJ keep asking "where's grandpa?" Mom and Jon and Logan love you.
I know I told you I love you in the last few months but I wanted so many more months. Cassandra would light up when "grandpa" came over :)
I have shed more tears in the last day than I thought possible; guys arent' supposed to cry you know...
Mom is a wreck but all us boys are helping her hang in there. You raised us well - you were a great dad and ... we all love and miss you.
I stopped by your work and they all miss you and I told them you liked working with all of them and liked your job; and the nicest thing was to hear back at the end of the conversation was "he was one of the genuinely nicest guys".
