Christopher Carson Obituary

Carson, Christopher "Kit" We are deeply saddened to announce the loss of a wonderful man. Christopher "Kit" Carson, age 56, passed away on the morning of January 26, 2015 at his home in New Jersey, after a valiant four-year battle with lymphoma. Kit reached the highest levels of his profession, while maintaining lifelong friendships, and dedicating himself to his family. He was a nurturing husband and father to his wife Theresa and their sons Jack and Jesse. He adored them and was so proud of their accomplishments. Kit was an exceptional American in every way he defined goodness, had a witty sense of humor, and was an eternal optimist. Kit was a trusted dear friend and colleague as the Chief of Staff of the EIB Network. He was an irreplaceable right-hand to Rush Limbaugh, helping to build the program from its early days over 27 years ago. He was the beloved husband of Theresa Lemieux Carson; devoted dad to John "Jack" and Jesse Carson; dear brother of John and Mary Carson; devoted son of Barbara J. Carson and the late John David Carson of Milwaukee, WI. Kit is survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Kit will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and everyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. Heaven has a new angel. In lieu of flowers, the family would like any gracious donations to be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society at LLS.org or Memorial Sloan Kettering at giving.mskcc.org.

Theresa I'm writing you with a heavy heart, you and kit were on my mind last night and decided to go on line to find you. I'm in shock and disbelief that Kit is no longer here. My deepest sympathy to you and the boys. Give my love to Jack, I'd like to get in touch with you,

I just found out through nj.com that this amazing person passed. My heart is in tears.
Kit was a very nice person, with a big heart and a beautiful family! I had the pleasure to babysit for Jack and Jesse a couple of years ago, as I was used to say to Kit and Theresa, the most well-behaved boys I had the pleasure to take care of.
I'll pray to God to give strength to his family.
God bless you Theresa, Jack and Jesse.

Dear Barbara, Mary, and the rest of Kit's family,

I was saddened to hear of Kit's untimely passing after his long and obviously heroic battle with cancer.

I have many fond memories of Kit from my early childhood--including times together in Cub Scouts with you, Barbara, as our "cub master/missus!"--and enjoyed reconnecting with Kit at our last WFB High School Reunion. Though we drifted a part in High School, especially after my Mom re-married and we moved to Germantown, I know from many others that Kit was well regarded by his classmates for his positive energy, wit, intelligence, and humor, not to mention is involvement in the WFB's performing arts.

I had been looking forward to seeing Kit at our next reunion, hoping that perhaps we'd have a chance to play some music together with him on piano / keyboards and me on fiddle / violin. I'm so sorry that I hadn't connected with Kit on one of my visits to New York over the past 10+ years!

My thought and prayers to all of you, and best wishes for carrying on Kit's legacy in your hearts and memories, as I know many of us who counted Kit as friend and classmate will do in celebrating his life.

With fond remembrances and deepest sympathy,

Richard F. Flor, Jr.

I am so sorry to learn of Kit's passing. I knew Kit while attending Indiana University and he would share a ride with me as we traveled back to Wisconsin on breaks. God's blessings to Kit's family and you are in my thoughts and prayers.

My love and deepest sympathy to Kit's family. You were everything to him. Kit and I were roommates at IU and friends for life, and I am blessed and made better to have known him. A good man, golden-hearted with a mellifluous voice, and a wicked fine dancer. The original Tall Drink of Water. So Whitefish Bay fair-complected that he'd color in his eyebrows to prove he had them. Always youthful and quick to smile. Too cruel, this cancer, to cut short a man so tall, this husband, father, brother, son and friend. You are in my heart, Kit. I love you. I will always remember you.

Dear Theresa, there are no words to express my sadness. I will remember Kit for as long as I live, and I am so glad I had the privilege to get to know you both. You were always inspiring. Love

Kit Carson did the "warm-ups" for Rush at the Rush TV show back in the '90's. The big smile, the serious instructions, once asking me not to request tickets so often (always on Thursday so I could see 2 shows taped). I real "bright" man and face, you could feel his "Happiness". R.I.P. David (Kane) Mindenhall

We live across the street from the Carson's. Kit was a neighbor with whom I always enjoyed chatting. His political views differed from mine on a few issues. Frequently, upon seeing me, he would cross the street, exchange pleasantries and engage me in a friendly exchange of points of view. He always listened, never showed any disrespect for my views. Most often Kit would ask me about my views on the political situation in Eastern Europe. I sensed that he enjoyed these conversations as much as I did.
Our condolences to Theresa, Jack and Jesse. Memories of our good neighbor Kit Carson will live with us.

On behalf of the Syal family, we are so sorry for your loss. While we did not know Kit for a long period of time, he will also be remembered by us as a very genuine guy, committed community figure and a great entertainer....will miss the days of martini's, trick-trays and basketball frenzy's with Kit and family. RIP...God bless.

I pray that the Carson Family recovers well from this sad sad loss. I'm sure that you can't wait for the day that you see Richard again. In the Bible book of Job Chapter 14:14,15 it brings us comfort in knowing that God yearns to bring our loved ones back to life also. Continue praying. I hope this brings you comfort & hope.

When I talked to him last month, he was as optimistic as ever he could beat his cancer. He never complained. He helped me immensely during my own fight with cancer the past few years. He had a wonderful life – he loved his boys, his wife, friends and work. We'll miss him but always remember his laugh, booming voice, and perfect hair. Next time you have a drink, order a martini or white Burgundy – his favorite drinks – and make a toast to the one and only Kit.

When I think back on Kit, I will always remember the first Kit I met 27 years ago...the young actor who showed up at WABC in his cargo shorts to open Rush's mail. God speed my friend and my love to Theresa and the boys!

His work did not go unnoticed. We are blessed to have had him and his cooperative efforts to nurture a whole new avenue in radio for the past 27 years. In my book, he is right up there with Paul Harvey. We will miss him and you have our sincere sympathy. Lee/Barb Gumm Kohler WI
