In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

We met Mr. & Mrs. Howe at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, Canada, at the book-signing for their book "and ...Howe", in the summer of 1996. They were gracious enough to allow me to photograph our then-11-year-old daughter with them as they signed the book which was given to my husband for our 17th wedding anniversary. They were so kind and generous with their time. This is truly a loss. We will pray for your family at this time.
