Curtis Crain Obituary

Died on May 6, 2006 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 77 years. Resident of Glendale. Beloved husband for 55 years of Burnell Crain (nee Markestad). Loving father of three sons, Curtis (Kristin), Kermit, and Timothy (Kathy). Proud grandfather of Jon, Clayton, Allison, Cydney and Hayley. Dear brother of Bobette (John) Uyhely. Further survived by other relatives and dear friends.

Curtis attended the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire and went on to further education at the Goodman Theater of The Arts in Chicago. He was the technical director for the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra for over 25 years and considered many of the musicians as his close friends. He was the president and 50 year member of Milwaukee Stage Employees, I.A.T.S.E. local #18. He was also the Master Carpenter for the Summer Melody Top Theater for all of its 20-year existence. His entrepreneurial spirit was evident by his many successful businesses. Curtis's many talents especially his "can do" attitude are gifts that will live on in his sons and their families forever. His "Spirit of Life" will be greatly missed by us all.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 15, at 4:00 PM at the First Unitarian Church of Milwaukee, 1342 North Astor Street, Milwaukee. The family will greet friends following the service. Interment will be private for the family. Memorials in Curtis's name may be made to the First Unitarian Church of Milwaukee or a charity of your choice.
