It was with great sadness that I heard about the loss of my friend and former co-worker. I was a young girl when I first met Darlene and she watched and helped me mature. Rob, your mom loved you with all her heart. I will remember her always with fondness and appreciation. May the coming days bring peace to you, your wife Lynn and your family.

My sympathy at your loss. I remember your mother from high school. Although she was a year ahead of me, we shared several classes and worked on a project together. I kept in touch with her after she graduated and I went off to college and then lost touch. I remember as a lovely, sweet and shy young woman who stuck to her principles.

Rob,
I was shocked to hear that your mother died. I worked with your mom for 15 years at MGIC. She was a very kind and lovely person, and though I enjoyed hearing her Hollywood stories (when I could get her to talk about them), her greatest joy in life was you -- her true accomplishment. She beamed when she talked about you.
I am sorry for your loss. My sincere sympathy to you and your family.

I am sorry that I never got a chance to meet Darlene. However, I know that my father and aunt (who were Darlene's cousins) knew her well when she was growing up. (She was the maid of honor at my aunt's wedding.) So, on behalf of my father and aunt, who have also passed on, please accept the condolences on behalf of the Ruswick family.

I have always remembered Darlene as she and I were in what was then called the "Miss Universe" contest in 1957. We were both one of the 10 finalists, and she went on to be named Miss Wauwatosa in that contest. I think I placed 4th. She and I both became friends during that time and both shared the dislike of having to kiss Gene Raymond in order to score points. Neither of us would do it.
Darlene was the sweetest and nicest person and we shared our shyness together. I was so happy she won. - Kathy Dettmann Economou

Dear Rob and Family
Take solace in the wonderful memories of your mother. She will continue to watch over all of you from her special place in Heaven. Those of us who lose loved ones wonder why? But when Our Lord unfolds the Tapestry of our Lives, all will be revealed and we will find everlasting life and joy. God Bless all of you at this sad time. With Sincere Sympathy ~ Kathleen Sylvester
