David Cabrera Obituary

David Cabrera

Bayside - Our sweet David Cabrera passed away on January 1, 2021 after falling down the stairs at home on November 13, 2020. His wife, Ilana, and sons, Levi and Benjamin will love and miss him forever. His parents, Eileen and Ralph Cabrera, brothers, Louis (Natale) Cabrera and Nicholas Cabrera (Amanda Palo), and niece Veronica Cabrera will continue to love and admire him as they have for so many years. David was intelligent, humorous, kind, loving, and compassionate. We are so grateful to have been part of David's life. The world won't be the same without him.

Cabrera family. I am so sorry for your loss. I was just taking time to look up some professors of mine and was shocked to find Mr. Cabrera (as we knew him) passed away. My wife and I were in his differential equations class in 2008 at UIC. One of the smartest professors/lecturers we had. I'll always remember how he would write the title of a topic we were learning and he would underline it, making sure to stop his line at a y and begin the line again on the otherside of the y.

The Cabrera's grew up in a house behind ours. I would go with my sister Candy while she babysat the Cabrera boys. They would watch Mathematical shows, maybe Square One. I remember thinking to myself that they are Math Geniuses! Such a very wonderful family. Love, the McAuliffe family (Pat, Mary, Candy, Carol)

My heart goes out to you Ralph and Eileen, his wife Ilana, his children and your family. There is no way to comfort someone for the loss of a son, husband and father. The only thing is to be grateful for the time he was on earth with you, the beautiful memories you will always treasure and the love and laughter he brought to your family. With deepest sympathy.

My prayers and sympathies to Ilana, Levi, Benjamin, Eileen, Ralph, Lou and Nick. Dave was a student of mine at Marist High School in Chicago. What a great, hard working and talented math student. He was a valued member of the Math team. He surely made great use of his talent and compassion during his short life. We were all blessed to have known him.

Praying for comfort and strength for you and your family at this very difficult time. David was a colleague of mine at Milliman IntelliScript. I always admired his sincerity and happy spirit. I loved hearing about how proud he was of his family and appreciated how he expressed genuine interest in all of us around him. His gentleness and grounded energy was palpable in our office. I know he will be truly missed. My deepest condolences.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. I will never forget the memories of elementary and high school and Crestwood baseball with you and Lou. One of the great memories I have was our 8th grade trip to Washington D.C. when we learned the word "konnichiwa" and couldn't stop laughing. We were all konnichi's that day and the rest of the year.
