Meyer, David Morris Madison - David Morris Meyer passed away unexpectedly at his home in Madison from complications of the flu on Monday, January 13, 2014. He was born in Madison on December 28, 1951, the older of two sons born to Richard Meyer and Manon Steele. He lived in Milwaukee during his teen and young adult years and attended Bay View High School. He completed his BA degree at the University of Wisconsin, MA degree at McAllister College in Minnesota, and PHD degree at Northwestern University in Chicago. His primary interest was in all things Irish. For several years he was on the faculty of the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia. Most recently he owned and managed Macater Press a publisher of Irish history and culture and concurrently he was a Senior Lecture at UWM, Milwaukee. He is survived by his parents Manon Steele, Pearland, TX; Rick Meyer, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law Bruce and Patty Meyer. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 11:00 AM at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK CHAPEL, 401 Femrite Drive, Madison. Inurnment will follow the service. Visitation will be held at the chapel on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
