February 26, 2005

Our deepest sympathy go out to husband, George and family. The Davenports built their home next to ours in Greendale on Rochelle Dr. in 1970. We just moved in with three children, including a newborn baby boy. Delores & George were great neighbors. We usually got together Christmas Eve when we were wrapping Xmas presents. When Joe was sent to England in 1972, they helped me with the children. When our youngest son, Jeff started to walk, he always went next store and said "Hi" George. I helped Delores sew her Mother of the Groom dress when David was getting married. Their sons, David and Dan took care of our lawn and home when Joe's company sent the children and I to England to visit their dad when he was sent there on a job. We had the most fun with our six children when George and Delores sold us their camper. We used it alot and had fun with our children camping every year. The sad news came when we had five children and Joe's dad died of cancer in 1977. We had to sell our home on Rochelle and built a bigger one on Gatewood Lane in Greendale. Joe was given notice in Feb of 2003 to transfer to Auburn Hills in Michigan. We had no time to sell our existing home in Greendale. Two of our sons, Jason and Jim are renting our home there until Joe retires. We both were deeply sadened by Delores's death. We did not know of her battle with cancer. She was a great person, and neighbor and will be deeply missed by our whole family.
