I have fond memories of Dennis walking me over to the Milwaukee Library to watch Howdy Doody on TV.
He would also take me to the Milwaukee Museum where he would leave me to look at the suits of armor and weapons while went upstairs to ask one of the curators a scientific questions. (I was about 5 and he was about 9.) LaMont McConnell

We became friends with Dennis when we lived at The Village. We so much enjoyed our dinners with him in the dining hall when he shared some of his life stories and the humorous cartoons he carried around with him in his wallet. He had a marvelous sense of humor. He was a good friend; we will always remember him fondly. Paul and Sharlene Magnarella

Dennis' early research on the anatomical effects of certain plant hormones provided a basic understanding of their action that I used in my research at UF. Then, at a personal level he was about 10 years ahead of me on the professional path at UF and provided an important model for my path. My condolences to all of Dennis' family and friends.
