Duane Pickering

Pickering, Duane Age 71 of Mauston, Wisconsin died Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at Hess Memorial Hospital in Mauston. Private family funeral services were held. Memorial contributions in Duane's honor to the American Heart Association would be appreciated. Duane was born September 30, 1937 in Butte, Montana the son of Duane and Sydney (MacDonald) Pickering. In January of 1955 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant in January of 1963. He married Holly Leetz in Elizabeth City, North Carolina in October of 1957. He worked for many years at Magnetech, Inc. in Butler, Wisconsin and retired in 1993. Duane is survived by his loving wife, Holly; sons, Duane (Mary) Pickering of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, James (Amanda) Pickering of West Allis, Wisconsin and William Pickering of Franklin; daughters, Mary (Ron) Koehler and Colleen (Dennis) Tyczkowski both of Franklin and Jacqueline (Jim) Mlaker of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; 5 grandsons; 3 granddaughters; 2 great-grandchildren; a brother, Mike (MaryJo) Naglus of Monona, Wisconsin; and sisters, Faye Tremain and Paulette (Bernard) Wells both of Mauston; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Maxine Fischer and Sandra Welch. The Conway-Picha Funeral Home and Crematory of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin assisted the family with arrangements.
