I helped hire Ed to work for Johnson Controls to be the building Engineer for the old Time Insurance Building in the 1980's. Years later I joined the Board of Trustees of the Milwaukee Repertory Theater only to find Ed was our serving as building engineer.
I remember him fondly, and recall sharing pastries dunked in coffee while discussing how the Time Insurance job was going. My deepest condolences to the family.

Ed was a great man. I have many fond memories of just sitting and chatting with him and Penny at SubFest in Manitowoc. My thoughts, prayers, and sympathies go out to Penny and the rest of the family. Rest your oar shipmate, we have the watch.

My sympathy for family and friends left behind. I just talked to him about a week ago when he was at the Museum volunteering. Had many great talks with him and shared some great stories back and forth of our experiences in the Navy. We both are/were shell backs too. He was such a nice guy to be around. Always the good ones leave us too early. RIP my friend!!! He always put a smile on my face when we were together. That was Ed, always a smile on his face and such a good natured man.
