My grandfather was truly a one-of-a-kind. He lived his life going 200 mph and never looking back. He taught me to be independent, self-confident and hard working. He opened my eyes to see what life is truly all about and that is the importance of family. The memories I have will always be cherished and can never be taken away. What I wouldn't give to have him roll up in his wheelchair one more time and ask me if I have any "gummies"! Grandpa was my "rock" in life, and I miss him dearly. I also hope to make grandpa proud of me just like I am proud to call him my grandfather.

MY DAD WAS THE GREATEST MAN EVER. IF EVER I NEEDED TO TALK HE WOULD DROP EVERYTHING AND LISTEN AND THERE WAS ALWAYS A HUG AFTERWARDS. HE HAS DONE SO MUCH FOR SO MANY AND NEVER EXPECTED ANYTHING IN RETURN. HE TAUGHT ME TO WORK HARD, RESPECT PEOPLE AND ALWAYS HAVE FUN. I NEVER THOUGHT OF HIM NOT BEING HERE AND NOW HE ISNT HERE. I MISS HIM VERY MUCH AND ALWAYS WILL. I HOPE I MADE HIM PROUD. I HOPE PEOPLE NEVER FORGET HIM AND THE THINGS HE HAS DONE.
GOD BLESS YOU DAD
I LOVE YOU

To the family, my condolences.
I was out of town when EJ was called home. Our friendship goes back to the days when the dealership was across from Imme's. Later, I would help make the move with SJ, Ed's dad, to the larger facility purchased from Imme.
I worked for EJ in the body shop next to Fickau's, then in the present building. I have many fond memories of working in all three buildings and will always be grateful to have worked for such a wonderful family

To an amazing person who gave so much. Grandpa Eddie, we are really going to miss you. Thank you for teaching Mary & Lori and I to appreciate country music and ham & rolls (with pickles, of course). Thank you for always recuing us at just the right time. Thank you for teaching us that it was okay to party as long as we had our chores done. But most of all, thank you for teaching us the importance of friendship. You were one of the best!!! XOXOXOXO

My deepest sympathy to all of you! Your dad was so thoughtful. Years ago at Christmas, my car died. Within a few hours, my dad pulled up in a new car and said "EJ told me that you are to drive this through the holidays and don't worry about anything. Merry Christmas"! What a great man! I will never forget his generousity. Cherish the memories, there are many.

To the Salentine Family;
I am so sorry for your loss. I
worked 35 yrs. in the auto body
business, only about 1 1/2 yrs. for
your dad. But that short time was
my most memorable. From day 1 I was
treated like one of the family by
E.J. and will never forget that. He
was always just one of the guys to
the crew and that meant a lot. When
returning to visit friends he would
always say hi-hows it going. He was
one of a kind and a sincere pleasure
to know. He will be missed by more
than you know. My thoughts and prayers be with you.

When I was five years old my dad took me into a dealership to buy a new car. As I looked up I saw a mountain wearing a pair of cowboys boots, it was EJ Salentine. He was the type of man that could generate respect, admiration and most of all friendship without even trying. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree when it came to his family. When I was taken out of the job market the Saletine family was there for me. I could never thank EJ or his family enough for helping me out when I needed. Here it is 46 years later, little did I know the day I met EJ, would turn into a lifetime of friendships and some of the best memories I could ever hope for. So when the day comes that my pump quits and my last fuse blows I'll be looking for him to go on another ride.

To the entire Salentine Family...
Just a note offering our deepest sympathy to all of you. In times like this it is difficult to see or feel positive about anything.
Take comfort in the fact that your father raised some of the most incredible and generous people I have ever met. Thank you allowing us in your lives.

You are in our thoughts and prays.

Barb and I offer our sincerest condolences on your loss. While it is never easy to lose a loved one, always look back fondly as E.J. touched so many lives, giving freely of himself without demanding anything in return. E.J. was truly an icon in Muskego who will never be forgotten.

Sue,Debbie,Sandy,Scott and Mary. I listened to my mother cry the other day when she delivered the news to me, and have since had time to reflect. I've known your Dad about 50 years now. He gave me my first job and sold me my first real car. My thoughts are of that huge smile knowing he has either just pulled one over on ya or is really glad to see you. And those big suspenders. The time we chased each other through Custer State Park with that bear in the sidecar. Sticking mushrooms to the ceiling in some nowhere motel. Pancake rides out to Whitewater with my dad, or those early River Runs when you actually knew the people that came along, or Tomahawk in fall. The hours upon hours spent in that Barn and his generosity by giving me a corner there to rebuild a bike when I had no place else to go. Or how about those pier parties on the bay when I was a kid. The stories he could tell, unbelievable!!! He always made time for those serious chats in his office over the years. He raised five kids and did a great job as I think you all turned out ok! So as I type this crying and smiling at the same time those are some thoughts that will be with me forever! Cherish the good memories.

Dear Sue, Debbie, Sandy, Scott and Mary:
I would just like to take a moment to express my sympathy on the loss of your dad. Although I haven't seen your dad in years, when I think of him, I remember his laughter, bright smile and all of the times your family and mine went snowmobiling and did things together-oh, so many years ago. Take peace in knowing he is now with your mom, looking down on all of you and your familes. May God Bless each and everyone of you as you go through this very difficult time. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

We will cherish the "Good Old Days": Picnics at Grandma Ludwig's and pontoon "adventures" on Big Muskego Lake. We still laugh about the famous ride that included running out of gas, and fire trucks waiting for our safe arrival back on shore! It was a good thing we knew the Chief!
