Eleanor Cox Obituary

Cox, Eleanor M. (Nee Dunleavy) Born to life in April 1919 in Scranton, Pennsylvania to which hometown she remained attached throughout her life. Born to Eternal Life January 1, 2014, aged 94 years and eight months. Preceded in death by her husband Andrew J. Cox in 1990 after fifty years of marriage, by his parents Andrew J. and Mary Cox, by her parents Francis and Viola Dunleavy, by her daughter Diane M. Cox, by brothers Vincent (Kathleen) and Edward (Rose) Dunleavy, sisters Ceil and Catherine Dunleavy, son-in-law Henry Teuteberg of Oconomowoc, WI and by many brothers and sisters-in-law. Survived by her daughter Kathleen Teuteberg, sons Andrew J. (Kate) Cox and Francis Cox, by her sister Ann (the late Frank) Gallagher and by five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Also survived by her nieces and nephews and their children. Mrs. Cox raised her family with great devotion through a number of changes of residence to York and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mattoon, Illinois and Brookfield, Wisconsin in association with her husband's career in the construction machinery industry with Blaw-Knox Corp. in Pittsburgh and Rexnord Corp. in Milwaukee. She was totally committed to all of her family throughout her long life and greatly assisted and supported her children during the ebb and flow of their existences. Visitation will by held at ST. DOMINIC CATHOLIC PARISH, 18255 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield on Monday, January 6 beginning at 12:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM. Burial at Wisconsin Memorial Park will be private for the family. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Stephen Haughey of Elm Grove for his help during the initial phase of her final illness beginning in 2002, and to the many caregivers at Franciscan Woods Nursing Home in Brookfield who provided skilled and conscientious support during the three years and seven months of her residence. Now free from the trials and agitation of this life may she live in the joys of eternal existence with her husband, daughter, parents, brothers and sisters and all of her family who have gone before her.
