Erich Kasten Obituary

Kasten, Erich W. Erich was born to Alma and Erich, Sr. on December 16, 1920. He received his crown of life on January 1, 2011. He was a lifelong member of Gloria Dei-Bethesda Lutheran Church where he lived his faith in constant service. Erich proudly served his country in Europe during WWII. He married his best friend, Donna on June 20, 1946. Donna was waiting for Erich in Heaven when he arrived. God blessed Erich and Donna's life with three children, Alan (Linda), Carol and June. Erich was blessed with three precious granddaughters, Lt. Kate, Kari and Milana. His granddaughters brought him constant joy. Erich is also survived by two nephews and their families, cousins and a multitude of friends. Erich worked for the City of Milwaukee. He was an avid bike racer and still holds many records. Funeral Services Wednesday, January 5, at 7:00 PM, at GLORIA DEI-BETHESDA EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 9420 W. Capitol Dr. Private Interment Wisconsin Memorial Park. Visitation Wednesday at the CHURCH from 4:00-6:45 PM. Erich would want us to remember him in this way - I am a Christian. I have placed all my hope in the life hereafter in Jesus Christ. His death and resurrection have given my life meaning and make my death a peaceful passage to eternal life in Heaven. I want my family and friends to know that for me to live was for Christ and to die is gain!

Erich lived life to the fullest. He worked hard, he played hard. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa and faithful Christian. He will truly be missed as he was one-of-a-kind and I feel blessed for having known him.

Our condolences to the Kasten Families. We will miss hearing Erichs stories. His willingness to jump in and help out with what ever needed doing will also be missed by many. He truely lived his Faith.

Erich could always bring light to an otherwise dreary day. I loved when he would come visit me at the hardware store and share his stories. He is truly with Jesus now!

Dear Erich,
Thank you for all you did for Gloria Dei. When something needed to be done, you were always the first person in line. I will miss hearing about your biking exploits, and the visits up north with you and your dog.
