Florence C. Ramel

1934 - 2018

Ramel, Florence C. (Nee Downing) Was born October 27, 1934 passed away September 3, 2018. Her parents, Wayne and Erma Downing of Cudahy, and all of her siblings preceded her in death. Her sons Matthew (Irma) Ramel, and Ahern Blanco Ramel and Daughter, Jeanmarie (Reymundo) Hiracheta, survive her. Grandmother of Matthew II, Yasha, Malachi, and Shema Ramel and Amy (David) Hiracheta Bublitz and SSG Reymund W. (Marie) Hiracheta and six Great Grandchildren, Ryan and Dustyn Galbraith, Kyra, Liam, Logan Hiracheta and Maya Walker. Florence graduated from Cudahy High School, then studied at Layton School of Art. Becoming Senior Display Designer at Marshal Fields during the 1960's and early 1970's, after which she focused on fashion design and men's tailoring. Florence was an exceptionally gifted artist, skilled at drafting patterns and tailoring her original designs to perfection much to the delight of her customers. Her creativity knew no limits as she put her artistic flair into everything from interior design, painting, carpentry, reupholstering to fashion and fine needlework. Many will miss Florence's creative touch.
