Frederick Bartz Obituary
Greenfield - March 5th, 2021 at the age of 92. Loving husband of Ellen (nee Bohlmann). Proud father of Allan Bartz, Richard (Laura), and Deborah (Robert) Weisheim. Dear "Gramps" of Daniel (Stefanie), Kimberly (Justin), Joshua (Brooke), Amanda (John), Rick, Gregory (Lisa), Robert (Michelle), and Samantha (Travis). Great-grandpa of 18. Brother of Kathleen (the late Lynn) Johnson and the late Jerry (Judy) Bartz. Also survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 13th, from 11am-12pm at the HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME, 4800 S. 84th, followed by the funeral service at 12pm. Interment St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Fred proudly served in the US Marines during WWII, and was a longtime faithful member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church on 68th & Forest Home Ave. He retired from AT&T after over 30 years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John's Building Fund appreciated.

Being second cousins, Fritz & I always enjoyed seeing each other @ Ace Hardware where he worked part-time. As well, both of us as Marines had a lot in common. A more respectful & dignified Christian man, I've never met. Fritz drove the "limo" for my parent's wedding & his dear father filmed the reception in 1946. Fritz & dear Ellen were kind & very special friends to my Dad in later years. The loss of Fritz is tragic to us all, but his Lord above needs this Marine to guard His streets in Heaven now. Semper Fi, Fritz! & God Bless You.

Uncle Frederick (not sure that´s genealogically correct, but that´s what I called him) was the most gentle and loving soul. His hugs were the best! I will miss him. Love and light to Aunt Ellen and all the family.

Fred was one of the kindest, most sincere men I have ever known. As mother to Justin Bills, Kim Bartz's husband, I often had opportunities to talk with Fred and Ellen at family gatherings. They were both unfailingly warm hearted and inclusive. I will miss Fred very much, and I send my sincere condolences to Ellen and his family. He was a bright light in this world, and the glow of his kindness to me will remain in my heart.

Our sincerest sympathies to Ellen and family. We have many fond memories of get-togethers with the extended Bartz clan and know that the heavenly reunion will be joyous and warm.
