Frederick L. Berndt

Berndt, Frederick L. Fred, of River Hills, peacefully passed away on December 19, 2013 at the age of 84. Preceded in death by his darling wife, Alberta. Beloved brother of Richard Berndt and uncle of Carol Berndt and Lisa Berndt of Seattle, and Jennifer Berndt of Ithaca, NY. Further survived by grandnephew's Alexander Lusty, Ivan Rivera and grandniece Laila Rivera. He was a 47 year business partner with his brother, Dick, of Berndt Buick Co. He was an avid collector of European classic cars including Lagondas, Bentleys, Bugatti, Delage, Mercedes, Hispano-Suiza, Super Swallow, Jaguars and Austin. He also had Buicks, McLaughlin, Knox and an amphibious Jeep which he named Fred's Folly which he used for picnicking on Lake Michigan. He was a long time member of the University Club, and a Founding Member of the S.W. Milwaukee Kiwanis Club. A Whitefish Bay H.S. and Purdue University graduate and past President of the Milwaukee Purdue Alumni Association.
